Description/Function of unit
Load Resolution - Infinite variability of each phase over the full range
Load Step
Each phase is provide with the following load control increments
Resistive: (1) 2.0 vernier, (2) 1.00, (4) 2.0, (2) 5.00, (3) 10.0 KW
Inductive: (1) 1.5 vernier, (2) 0.75, (4) 1.5, (2) 3.75, (3)7.5 KVAR
Load Tolerance
Resistive: +/-5% of nominal kilowatt rating, +/-2% phase to phase balance
Inductive: +/-5% of the nominal kilovar rating, +/-3% phase to phase balance
Configuration
The load bank is a self contained unit equipped with metering with metering, pilot controls, power controls, and load section in a single unit.
Enclosure
Low speed, dual axle, aircraft ground support type trailer with steering front axle with extended toe bar and lunnet ring. Rear axle will be equipped with hand lever type parking brakes. Enclosure housing the load bank items will be a minimum of NEMA 3R rated. Air exhaust will discharge the top if the unit. All operator controls will be protected and accessed by hinged covers. All controls and connections will be accessable at ground level and be a maximum of 78” from ground level.
Ambient
Temperature: 20ºF to 120ºF
Relative Humidity up to 100%
Altitude - 6000’ ft maximum
Load Resistors
The loadtec resistor is designed specifically for high density applications. The resistor is continuously supported to eliminate possible shorting contact with surrounding resistors. The load resistors are mounted in trays that are independently mounted so each is removable without affecting any other tray.
Cooling
Forced air cooled using a one piece cast aluminum propeller driven by a motor rated for the propeller’s BHP requirement.
Control Power
Cooling motor 460 Vac, 3PH, 60HZ, derived from an auxiliary source
Control circuit - 120V, 1PH nominal, derived from the selected cooling motor power source by an integral control power transformer
Protective System
Cooling Failure - A temperature sensor in the exhaust and a pressure differential switch are provided to sense for proper fan operation. If a failure condition is detected, the load will be disconnected.
Fused Element - A comprehensive fuse protection scheme is provided for individual load section and control circuit.
Load Control
The load is controlled by connectors that are designed for continuous and cycling operations.
Controls & Indicators
